Before the match against Chicago Fire on July 21, Inter Miami honored superstar Lionel Messi as the player with the most titles in history.
Messi won the 2024 Copa America with Argentina, the 45th title of his career. This title also helped Messi make history as the player who won the most championships for both his club and the national team.
Despite still being injured and unable to play for Inter Miami , Messi was honored by Inter Miami president Jorge Mas in a special event before the match against Chicago Fire to honor him at Chase Stadium.
Jorge Mas presented Messi with a commemorative photo displaying the trophies he has won at club level with Barcelona , PSG and Inter Miami, as well as his international exploits with Argentina.
“Today we celebrate a huge milestone for our captain Leo Messi, as he becomes the footballer with the most trophies in the history of the sport. And I am sure he will not stop at 45.
We hope he can lift more trophies in the future,” said Jorge Mas .
